Just the two of Us (just for the weekend)

What a FANTASTIC weekend. Friday night the kids headed to The Lake of the Ozarks with Denise and Chris, and Clayton and I have been basking in our "aloneness" ever since! We worked our tails off Saturday doing all those things around the house which just never seem to be able to get done. Clayton shampooed the carpets, changed the oil in the car, vacuumed the cars out, changed the air filter in the van (finally), mowed the front yard, built an extra shelf in our closet, and slapped a coating of mud around the ceiling he just patched. I cleaned the oven, freezer, microwave, the whole kitchen in general, organized shelves in the pantry, mowed the back yard and cleaned our room and lastly the kids room.

I know it doesn't sound like much fun but believe me if the kids were around it would have taken us at least 6 months to accomplish what we did in less than a day. We quit everything around 4:30 to clean up for the other half of our night:

Tickets for "A Dark Knight"- $4 Dollars apiece
Dinner at our favorite pizza place- Old Shawnee Pizza - $27.90
Not having to find a babysitter- PRICELESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Despite all the wonderful alone time, sleeping in, and our Sunday nap we are ready for the madness to begin again!

Travel Diary

Last weekend we returned from a double wedding and a "FamilyMoon" (FamilyMoon is what Clayton dubbed the family trip) to the Oregon Coast. We had a layover in Denver on both legs of the trip. The triplets were excellent travel companions this time around. Clayton and I even sat together and left the three of them in their own row on the way home. Eli fell asleep and the girls played with their toys in their backpack. We returnd on the Fourth and could see fireworks from the plane. It was great welcome home to Kansas City!

It is hard to believe all 7 Pixton kids are now married! That is quite a feat! Congrats to Bryce and Kadra and Kyrstyn and Mathias!

Misty (old old friend from 8th Grade) met us for "dinner" at Panda Express on the return layover in Denver. While there we lost Addison's back pack and then she left her crocks at the gate. Both items were recovered and we still need to go to bagage services at KCI to pick them up!

New Family Photos

In the middle of all the wedding madness, Britt took our family photos. You can check them out on her site: http://www.brittpixton.com/order. Then click on the Pixton Family Gallery link and enter in the access code below:

The family shot was hard! Getting the five of us to coperate at the same time improved impossible!

Eli Olivia and Addison's Father

For Father's Day nothing really worked out that we had planned! Our picnic was rained out but we made the most of the day and enjoyed it anyway!

Amy's Animal House

"Splash Cove" we have a summer pass to the pool this year

That is what my sister, Christy, calls my "day care". This last week there have been anywhere from 3-8 kids at our house including our three of course! This was actually a fun week. I tried to keep the kids busy and we did some fun things. I got kidded out a few times and Wednesday night after Eli's Karate class (yes, finally on the 4th session he got into it!) took a long trip to the grocery store and my mom and I stopped off to get a burger. It was nice to get away for a couple of hours. We went to the store closest to our home that we all refer to as Ghetto Mart. I do have to say that Ghetto Mart by far has the friendliest checkers ever. Something funny always happens when I go there and this time I couldn't stop laughing that there was a sign hanging in front of the store announcing a sale. All grocery stores have sales but I have never seen one with a sign out front! If you look real close you can see that the sign says "4 Day Sale Wed-Sat. My mom was yelling at me to stop taking pics so I didn't get closer!

Well Clayton just finished putting his mixer back together. It was having problems so he pulled off every nob and pulled it apart. He cleaned it with Deotix (something he picked up from Radio Shack and we are hoping this does the trick. I am kind of fond of this mixer because I won it for him on ebay. He was in classes at NYU and I was working at York in front of a computer when the auction would be closing. It was the first thing I ever bid on and Darshan kept running up to my desk helping me!

working weekend

I have been trying to get the kids video of the preschool program up on the blog but I believe something is wrong with the cord. I recently downloaded some video and now it is not working. Their program was so awesome. You will get to see for yourselves if I ever get the cord to work!

We had a really busy weekend. Friday night was fun. Dinner with the Staggs at Oklahoma Joe's, one of my favorites but after that the weekend was all work and no play. Starting from Saturday morning either Clayton or I was at work until Sunday at 11:00 AM. Saturday, Clayton worked on a project all day and came home at 9:15 PM. I left at 9:45 PM and when I got home at 8:00 AM Clayton went back to work until 11:00. We planned to meet at church and it just so happened that both of us were getting onto I 70 at the same time!

I had not worked at Detox in over a month. Every time I do I always really enjoy it. We were really busy all night long. I like it that way much because it helps me stay awake.

This is really unusual. Clayton is asleep and I am awake. I was just listening to a skit about the Japanese office on a friend's blog and it totally startled him! I think I need to hit the sack. Sorry nothing fun to report!
