Eli Olivia and Addison's Father

For Father's Day nothing really worked out that we had planned! Our picnic was rained out but we made the most of the day and enjoyed it anyway!

Amy's Animal House

"Splash Cove" we have a summer pass to the pool this year

That is what my sister, Christy, calls my "day care". This last week there have been anywhere from 3-8 kids at our house including our three of course! This was actually a fun week. I tried to keep the kids busy and we did some fun things. I got kidded out a few times and Wednesday night after Eli's Karate class (yes, finally on the 4th session he got into it!) took a long trip to the grocery store and my mom and I stopped off to get a burger. It was nice to get away for a couple of hours. We went to the store closest to our home that we all refer to as Ghetto Mart. I do have to say that Ghetto Mart by far has the friendliest checkers ever. Something funny always happens when I go there and this time I couldn't stop laughing that there was a sign hanging in front of the store announcing a sale. All grocery stores have sales but I have never seen one with a sign out front! If you look real close you can see that the sign says "4 Day Sale Wed-Sat. My mom was yelling at me to stop taking pics so I didn't get closer!

Well Clayton just finished putting his mixer back together. It was having problems so he pulled off every nob and pulled it apart. He cleaned it with Deotix (something he picked up from Radio Shack and we are hoping this does the trick. I am kind of fond of this mixer because I won it for him on ebay. He was in classes at NYU and I was working at York in front of a computer when the auction would be closing. It was the first thing I ever bid on and Darshan kept running up to my desk helping me!

working weekend

I have been trying to get the kids video of the preschool program up on the blog but I believe something is wrong with the cord. I recently downloaded some video and now it is not working. Their program was so awesome. You will get to see for yourselves if I ever get the cord to work!

We had a really busy weekend. Friday night was fun. Dinner with the Staggs at Oklahoma Joe's, one of my favorites but after that the weekend was all work and no play. Starting from Saturday morning either Clayton or I was at work until Sunday at 11:00 AM. Saturday, Clayton worked on a project all day and came home at 9:15 PM. I left at 9:45 PM and when I got home at 8:00 AM Clayton went back to work until 11:00. We planned to meet at church and it just so happened that both of us were getting onto I 70 at the same time!

I had not worked at Detox in over a month. Every time I do I always really enjoy it. We were really busy all night long. I like it that way much because it helps me stay awake.

This is really unusual. Clayton is asleep and I am awake. I was just listening to a skit about the Japanese office on a friend's blog and it totally startled him! I think I need to hit the sack. Sorry nothing fun to report!

Going it Alone

Eli had his first karate class Wednesday night. I thought he would LOVE it since he has been in an imaginary class for about a month now! Instead he didn't want to walk through the door and kept asking for his sisters. He sat on the floor, belly to the ground, hands to the chin, and feet up in the air while the other 11 students lined up and followed the Sensei's directions. He is four and this is really the first thing he has done without Addi and Owa. It’s good for him! He did get into the gui and wants to wear it all the time now.

Owa's surgery

Olivia began snoring since the day she was born. I have been describing her sleeping patterns to our pediatrician for about a year and when I brought in this video (below) of her sleeping we got a referral to an Ear Nose and Throat specialist (ENT). Upon examining Olivia, the ENT felt her adenoids needed to be removed.

Olivia was able to get into for surgery really fast because of a cancellation. The surgery was scheduled on the 7th just one day after little O turned 4. Eli and Addi spent the night with Denise because Owa's appointment was at 6:30 AM at Saint Luke's South where Jessica just happened to give birth at 11:20 PM the night before the surgery. (Now the new baby shares a birthday with Bryce and the triplets) Once Clayton and I signed all the papers and got Olivia settled and they kicked us out of the room I ran to the maternity ward and met my new nephew. He is quite adorable I might add!

The procedure lasted 15 minutes. She was put to sleep and then given an IV. When she woke up in the recovery room she asked for Clayton and I. She was fussy when we saw her. I put her in my arms and she fell asleep. After she slept 20 minutes the nurse checked her vitals again and at 9:00 we were free to go. I came home with her and she slept almost until 1 and I haven't heard a complaint out of her! She is a trooper!

When the doctor came to speak with us he said Olivia's nasal passage way was 75% blocked by her adenoids. Also, because they were so enlarged they were blocking mucas from draining. This is supposed to help the runny nose as well. And for the ears hopefully all the fluid will be able to drain now. It was causing her problems and she wasn't able to hear very well.

As for today she was still snoring like a freight train but that we are told that will improve as the swelling goes down! The nurse said she wished all kids were this good!

Amy's Birth Day and Eli Owa and Addi's birthday

We have had a crazy week. It started Monday night. Addi complained of her ear hurting. She had just had an ear infection so I called the after hours doc and he said to bring her to urgent care. I have been to urgent care a couple of times and have always gotten in and out quickly but not this time. Addi and I arrived at 9:30 PM and we didn't leave until 1:45 AM. On top of that, I still had to bake birthday cupcakes for preschool the next day! She was sound asleep by the time the doctor showed up to examine her. Both ears were infected. I had a lot of time to sit and think and of course their birth was on my mind and of course I cried. I cry every year on their birhtday.

An oldie but goodie!
